Objectives:
To provide basic knowledge and understanding of problems of Indian education, nature of learning process and learners, methods of
teaching, management of education and educational technology. To develop new skills of teaching and application of modern tools and techniques of communication and evaluation.
Courses:
1. Teaching and Education in the emerging Indian society
2. Psychology of development and learning
3. Educational management and strategies for teaching
4. Principles of curriculum development and educational technology 5. One course from the following:
a. Teaching methodology in Social Science
b. Teaching methodology in Science
c. Teaching methodology in English
d. Teaching methodology in Hindi
e. Teaching methodology in Commerce
6. Course on Content-cum-methodology of teaching school subjects. Selection of any one subject from the following two groups:
a. Arts: Hindi, English, Sanskrit, Civics, History, Social Studies, Economics;
b. Science: Physics, Chemistry, Maths, Biology.
7 and 8. Practice teaching of two school subjects consisting of 15 teaching sessions in each subject.
9. Work experience and community work.
Entrance qualifications:
1. In-service teaching experience of at least 3 years in a Government aided/recognised school;
2. 21 years of age or over on the 1st January when the programme is launched;
3. Graduation in Arts or Science.
